Switching over to an FMG Website will take only a few minutes of your time. We have a “NBD” transfer system (that stands for No Big Deal) and one of our marketing consultants will walk you through the process. Together you’ll choose a color palette and theme, and then add your contact information, logo and photo. (This information will transfer to all of your FMG products, so you only have to do it once.) Once you have your website up and running, our advisor portal makes it very easy to make changes and add content, and our consultant will be with you every step of the way. Concerned about capturing the content currently on your site? Our consultant will make sure you get everything you want on your new site, painlessly.
Yes, they are. Keeping a website up-to-date is an ongoing process. For that reason we update your site’s code on a routine basis. The website that you purchase from us will always employ the most current and most essential new web technologies.
Every month, we add at least one new video and three new articles – all compliance reviewed. We will also feature a different presentation each month if you are a subscriber to FMG Presentations. You always have the option to toggle content on and off your website.
As a professional, you need to spend your marketing dollars carefully. Ask yourself, do my clients and prospects get value out of the materials that I send them? Do the items that I currently send prompt them to think about their financial concerns, and do they raise my perceived value? What return do you get for each dollar you spend? Regular email contact — with meaningful and helpful information — presented in a dynamic, personalized format can bring you a higher return on your marketing dollar than anything else you can do.
We’ll help you upload your email list in any format. The easiest for us is a comma delimited file (CSV), but we can work with anything. Instructions for transferring a CSV are usually available through your current email provider.
Having each of your clients’ email addresses is almost as important as having their phone numbers. While it may not be appropriate to call your client on a monthly basis, it is perfectly acceptable to send them an email regularly. A current and accurate email list is essential to your marketing success.
Many advisors take an afternoon with their assistant to update their records by calling each of their clients to make sure that they have the contact info — including email address. Moving forward, make sure that you’re collecting email addresses for all future clients.
It’s not necessary to be an expert in every facet of business. It is important, however, to have the reputation of being a valuable source of information. The goal is to have clients and prospects regard you as their trusted advisor, and offering expert information about a variety of topics will build that reputation. You should be the one referring clients to other specialists when the need arises, not the one hoping to get the referral.
There are 3 presentation formats that fall under “best practices”: PowerPoint, Keynote, and PDF. Powerpoint and Keynote all require purchased software to view and use. PDF format is unique in that it’s free for anyone to use. On top of that, PDF is the only format that works on all platforms and devices (e.g. PC, Mac, iPad, PC tablets, etc.).
Yes, you need to have the Adobe Reader version 9 or higher (Free) installed on your machine. Download the latest version
If you’re presenting on an iPad you need to download the PDF viewing app 2Screens ($5.99). While you can use any PDF viewer app to view your presentation, 2Screens is the only app that can play back embedded video. Download now
If you have an FMG Website, you don't need to do anything. Your Video Live clips will automatically be added to your Content Library. They can be toggled on/off just like any other piece of content.
If you don't have an FMG Website, we will provide you with a Data DVD containing the HTML embed code for your videos. You can use this code to place the videos on your site, just as you would add a YouTube video. The DVD also contains “hard file” versions of the videos that can be uploaded to any video hosting service
Absolutely. Simply write your messages in the "Custom Script" section, and email them to us with your other script choices. We recommend that you also submit your messages to compliance for review. Videos should range 90 to 180 words in order to keep your video at approximately 60 seconds.
The more familiar you are with the scripts, the easier and faster your session will go, but there is no need to memorize them. You will be reading a teleprompter that is situated so that it appears that you are looking right into the camera. Our Video Live team will help you be comfortable, and we will work with you to get a "clean take" of each script. It's actually pretty fun being the star of the show!
Yes. We will send you the files and you may use your video clips in any way that you desire. Our customer service reps will assist you if you have any trouble embedding the videos on your website or downloading them to other sites.
